Oh Pinot Noir - one of the most frustrating grape varieties there is! Whenever Steve was asked if he preferred Burgundy (Pinot Noir) or Claret (predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon), his reply was “If I’m paying it’s Claret, if someone else is paying it’s Burgundy”. That’s because it can, on the one hand, be the most elegant and sublime wine there is but can also be extortionately expensive and disappointing. We’re not going to hold back at this tasting – expect top notch Red Burgundy as well as some of the best examples from around the globe.
